Appearance:
Contrasting her brother, Ana stands a diminutive five foot three. Though small, she is not without some thickness, and weighs roughly 110, with most of her weight noticeably in her chest and hips. She sports long mid-back length bright red hair, a common trait of her heritage (she is Cretain, which is a lot like Ireland/Scotland), and her eyes are a bright and clear blue green.

Though like her brother she grew up most of her life in the usually sunny and warm country side of Amestris, she remains pale, and light freckles speckle her cheeks.

Her only distinguishable mark is a thin scar on her upper left arm.

Upon her arrival in Solluna City, she is wearing a calf-length tan denim skirt with cargo pockets on either side, violet lace up cork sandals, and a rose colored v-neck teeshirt. A silver leaf-designed promise ring is on her left ring finger, along with a silver charm bracelet holding her alchemic array on her left wrist.

Personality:
Most wouldn't know that Ana spent a good majority of her childhood diagnosed as a high-functioning autistic. As a young adult she's got a naturally bright and optimistic personality, is friendly and kind and loves being around her friends and family more than anything. Despite that, she has a terrible time being completely open with people, even her own boyfriend, and often has to be reminded to not keep secrets, especially from Hex.

She has little in the way of temper, and usually goes quiet when confronted about something negative. If she is angered or upset by some one, she dislikes remaining in the same area as the person who angered her and will more often than not walk away from them. The same, however, does not go if some one is threatening her friends and family, as she has strong convictions about keeping them safe and protected and will go to extreme lengths to do so.

She is intelligent and talented, especially in herbology and alchemy as well as music, but often finds herself lacking confidence, especially in stressful and intense situations. It often takes a push from some one else to convince her that she can go through with something. This does not stop her from being the occasional sarcastic smart ass, which she rarely ever means anything by aside from a playful jest. She's also very motherly and compassionate, and will almost instantly take a wayward soul under her wing.

Abilities/Weaponry:

Ana's skill lies within her ties to both alchemy and the study of plant life. With Hex's help she designed an array that focused past basic physical alchemy and went in to using plants, trees, and some base earth elements. The array is on a small charm on a silver bracelet, but should she lose it she carries a few pieces of paper in a pouch along with enough materials to readily transmutate a whip for a weapon.

Like Hex, she can, using the materials around her to create things, and she has the same limitations as him.

While she is very much against violence, she does know how to fight, and practiced various forms of martial arts during her brother's physical recovery. She also keeps a small bolo, an herbal collecting knife, and it can also be used as a weapon. She prefers her whip and is far more skilled with.

Weaknesses:

With her mother complex and want to protect all those she cares about, she has a tenancy to forgo her own safety in lieu of theirs. She isn't always trusting, and that can be turned on her, as she's more apt to believe that people she doesn't know are lying to her, even in a dire situation.

Physically she is strong for her body size, but not overly so, and can be hindered by normal physical limitations of the human body. She suffers from the occasional migraine, and has weakened wrist joints.

Unlike Hex, however, she's a very good swimmer and is not afraid to get a little wet.

Like him, she's terrified of basements, but is a little less afraid of the dark.

History:

Ilyana was born in May, the eldest child and only daughter of the prestigious Naismith clan in Creta. She had a younger brother named Mathias, and lived with her mother, father, aunt, uncle and grandmother in a large house in the Cretian countryside. When she was five, the family, along with several other clans, began taking in refugees that had once worked for the Patrelli mob in Amestris. The mob had fallen victim to a turf war, and the people that had been unwilling employed under them fled. Since a handful of them had ties to the clans of Creta, the clans saw it as their obligation to help where they could.

This, however, angered the Petrelli family, and once they had their resources again they sent hit men after the families. Ana was the last survivor of the Naismith clan, having watched her entire family killed at their hands. The incident traumatized her greatly, to the point where she was diagnosed as having acute traumatic autism, with a chance of recovering to a mostly normal state of mind with medication and therapy.

Ana was then adopted by the Rydels, a family who had a close friendship with Ana's biological father. Because of her experience it took time for her to trust them, but great steps were taken in her recovery by almost instantly befriending their young son, Hexan. He made a promise to protect her, and in turn over the years she has done the same for him.

When they were twelve, Hex attempted, by way of alchemy, to transmute a chimera with various animals. The backlash accidental transmuted him, though, and watching the incident occur with her own eyes actually seemed to fully aid her mental recovery, setting her on the path to a much more normal life style. By the time she was fifteen there were very few traces of her autism left, though she still frequented a therapist for her own benefit.

The siblings were home schooled, spending on a year in public high school aside from their extra curricular activities, and after their graduation they enrolled in Eglatian University, where she started a major in botany.
